The authors Cris Partridge and Andrew Preston have expanded this latest edition to cover the recent unanimous decisions made by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) with regard to reducing sulphur emissions and amending the MARPOL Annex VI Regulations. About The Authors


ANDREW PRESTON - SENIOR EQUITY PARTNER
Andrew joined Clyde & Co in 1994 and became a partner in May 2000. Qualified in England and Hong Kong, Andrew specializes in general commercial and shipping disputes. His shipping experience includes all aspects of bunker problems. He acts for a variety of corporations, oil majors, ship owners, P&I interests, time charterers, bunker suppliers, cargo interests and their insurers. He advises on and litigates bunker and charter party disputes in arbitrations and court proceedings worldwide. Andrew lectures extensively both nationally and internationally on all legal aspects of commerce and trade. He is currently a director of and legal adviser to the International Bunkering Association (IBIA).

CRIS PARTRIDGE MSc - MASTER MARINER
Cris joined Clyde & Co in 2005 as a Master Mariner / Marine Investigator following a 24 year career at sea. Having gone to sea as a trainee deck rating Cris worked through the ranks to gain command and hold a valid British STCW95 Unlimited Masters Certificate.

His seagoing experience in both global and region specific trading includes 5000 TEU container ships, capesize bulk carriers, lighthouse tenders, offshore supply vessels, coastal dry bulk trades, capital & aggregate dredging, Ro-Ro vessels both passenger and freight and survey ships. After attaining an MSc in Maritime Operations Cris worked for a short while as a Cargo Surveyor. Since joining Clyde & Co Cris has been involved in a wide range of cases including groundings, cargo damage claims, subsea trenching with marine ploughs, ship performance disputes and ice navigation.
